Training

LAST RACE - SEPT 10/9AM/RUN, WALK, CRAWL FOR HOPE 5K/CROSSNORE SCHOOL

RESULTS:

Time: approx 36 min//will post exact time once posted online. Ran more of hills than ever before. Shaved off 8 minutes from previous times on race day! Thoughts: Felt so good!

TRAINING UPDATES:

September 7 - Ran 2 miles of route. Time: approx 25 min. Thoughts: Rushed out of running the entire route again due to scheduling. Anxious for race day.

September 1 - Workout at the gym with trainer. Time: 1 hour. Thoughts: Kicked my butt, but felt good. Got new ideas for exercises; pointed out a few of my weaknesses, i.e. my core.

August 28 - Ran the full route again. Time: approx 45 min (again). Ran the beginning of a few hills. Thoughts: Ran with a 13 year old - jeolous.

August 25 - Ran the actual entire 5k route today. Time: approx 45 minutes. Walked all the big hills. Thoughts: Felt good, would like to improve my time.

In the fall of 2009, I started taking my occasional jogging more seriously and signed up for a 5K with my friend. We trained together and raced our first 5K in December 2009. Below is a screen shot with the results of both my friend and I. (There were dozens of other runners. I just captured our two names and those in between us.)

I took a bit of time off from running seriously, but returned to more regulary jogging last November. Now, I'm gearing up for my 2nd 5K, which is being held at the school we work at. It's coming up on Sept. 10, 2011.
